PIA and NBP advance in Benazir Memorial Cricket

LAHORE - PIA, National Bank of Pakistan, Port Qasim and Karachi Whites won their respective matches of the Shaheed-e-Jamhooriat Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament that began at Karachi on Monday.
PIA won over Karachi Blues by 48 runs, National Bank beat Pakistan Steels by 35 runs, Port Qasim moved past Karachi Gymkhana by eight wickets and Karachi Whites prevailed over Hyderanad won by seven wickets.
APP adds, Naumanullah smashed an unbeaten ton as NBP beat Pakistan Steel by 35 runs in Shaheed-e-Jamhooriat Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad on Monday.
Nauman blasted five 4s and as many 6s in his 100 off 56 balls and Qasier Abbas hit four boundaries and one six in his 45 as put to bat first, NBP piled up 194-2 in 20 overs.
Pakistan Steel in reply were restricted to 159-7 in their over overs. Rizwan Ahmed top-scored with 34 with four 4s and one six and Zeeshan Rahim made 31 not out with four boundaries.
Spinners duo of Mansoor Khan and Misbah khan seven wickets between but their effort failed to save Karachi Blues from 48 runs defeat at the hands of PIA at Karachi Gymkhana.
Pakistan discard Yasir Hameed hit 26-ball 40 with four 4s and one six as PIA collected 137 all out in overs. Karachi Blues in reply could manage 89 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs in reply.
Federal Sports Minister Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani inaugurated the 16-team event at karachi Gymkhana. President KG Badar Anwar, Chief Organizer Razaullah Khan and other officials were also present on the occasion.
In the second match at KG Ground, opener Shahzaib Hasan hammered unbeaten 85 in just 32 deliveries with nine 6s and four 4s as Port Qasim Authority (PQA) thrashed Karachi Gymkhana by eight wickets.
Shahzaib hoisted four successive sixes off Yasir Hussain which cost him 27 runs.
Karachi Gymkhana was included in the event after Balochistan pulled out of the event.
In another match at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad, Karachi Whites beat Hyderabad by seven wickets Medium pacer Fahad Khan was Karachi Whites' hero as he snapped-up four wickets for 27 runs.
