Misbah to replace unfit Malik
By ANISUDDIN KHAN July 2, 2008 KARACHI - Mianwali-born 34 year old Misbahul Haq is all set to wear the captain's crown on Wednesday when he leads Pakistan in crucial Asia Cup super four match against India in place of an unfit Shoaib Malik.
Talking to media here Tuesday at the DHA where Misbah had nets along with teammates, the right-handed batsman who occasionally bowls leg-breaks said that he had been told to lead against India if Shoaib Malik failed to get fit enough for Wednesday's crucial match in the super four league.
Shoaib Malik was also present on the ground but did not take part in the training. He was wearing a canula on his arm. After the Pakistani skipper suffered dehydration against Sri Lanka he was being administered fluid through drip. The all rounder had recovered but not good enough for a tough contest like India.
Responding to many queries about teams chances against the arch sports rival, Misbah said the home team would enter the contest with positive attitude confident to give better performance and go for a win.
No doubt there would be pressure on Pakistan in the match but Indians would be under more pressure than the home team, he added.
