Water Sports Gala: Musharraf asks Navy to lead in promoting water sports

KARACHI - President Pervez Musharraf inaugurating the Pakistan Navy Sports Gala here on Friday late evening at Marina Club advised Navy to spearhead the movement to develop water sports in the country.

He announced a donation of Rs one million for water sports on the occasion. He also congratulated the Commander Coast, Event Management Company Koncepts Unlimited and City District Government Karachi, for joining hands to organise the event and look forward the support of all the relevant departments and organisations for the great success of the Gala.

He also asked Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal who were also present on the occasion, to encourage water sports.

The president emphasised the need for encouraging water sports in the country.
