Pakistan off to good start in World Junior Team Squash
August 4, 2008 LONDON (APP) - Pakistan got off to a good start on the opening day of the World Junior Men's Team Championship in the Swiss city of Zurich by putting aside Czech Republic 3-0 on the opening day which otherwise produced no surprises.
All the leading seeded countries survived their opening encounters without much ado.
Aamir Atlas Khan, runner-up in the individual championship, led second seeds Pakistan to a clean sweep over event newcomers Czech Republic in Pool B, while favourites Egypt who rested new world champion Mohamed El Shorbagy ,beat Finland 3/0 in Pool A.

Pakistan beat Czech Republic 3-0: Aamir Atlas Khan bt Roman Svec 9-0, 9-0, 9-1 Mohd Shoaib Hassan bt Ondrej Uherka 9-2, 9-0, 9-1 Waqar Mehboob bt Zbynek Standera 10-8, 9-6, 9-0
Egypt beat Finland 3-0: Andrew Wagih Shoukry bt Henrik Mustonen 10-9, 9-0, 9-7 Karim Abdel Gawad bt Mikael Siren 9-3, 9-1, 9-2 Amr Khaled Khalifa bt Joonas Honkanen 9-3, 9-2, 9-2.
