Pakistan junior hockey team beat Malaysia

LAHORE - The Pakistan junior hockey team beat Malaysia by 5-2 in the second warm up match of Junior World Cup at Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Thursday.
Earlier, Pakistan played a 2-2 draw against New Zealand in the first warm up match on Wednesday.
According to the information received from JB, the hosts were leading the match by 2-1 goals at the end of the first half. But Pakistan team produced better game in the second session and scored four goals to win the match. Muhammad Zubair scored two goals, while Muhammad Irfan scored on goal on penalty corner, Waqas Sharif and Abdul Haseem Khan also scored one goal each.
In the first warm up match against New Zealand in Singapore on Wednesday, the match was leveled by 1-1 at the end of the first half. Muhammad Atiq scored one goal on penalty corner and Waqas Sharif scored the second goal from Pakistan.
The Pakistan team will now attend the opening ceremony of the 9th Junior World Cup in Singapore on Friday and then team will have practice session on June 6 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Pakistan will play its first match against Russia on June 7 at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
