Kamran, Rauf lead Multan to victory
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 5, 2008 LAHORE - The combination of left and right arm fast bowlers in Kamran Hussain and Abdur Rauf triggered the star-studded Peshawar Panthers collapse and give Multan Tigers a comfortable win in the RBS Twenty20 Cup here at the LCCA ground on Sunday.
Both these bowlers reduced the Panthers to 15 for six by the sixth over was bowled in which Kamran got three wickets for 10 runs and Rauf had two for 11. The time these bowlers finished their opening spell, Aftab Alam coming at number seven hammered a 49 balls 52 with the help of four fours that also gave some shine to his team total. Zohaib Khan made 10 and Umer Gul, who was the second highest scorer of Panthers' innings made 18 in a total of 103 in 19.3 overs. In reply, Tigers achieved the score in 16.5 overs without little pressure losing just three wickets.
Tigers batsmen Shoaib Maqsood 39, and Saeed Anwar 42 not out and Kamran Hussain 14 not out took the score to victory.
