1st NBP Golf Tournament tees off

LAHORE - The first National Bank of Pakistan Golf tournament commenced at the Lahore Gymkhana Golf Course on Saturday 7th of February.
The first days event for ladies, seniors and veterans were contested. In these contests, some very interesting competitions were witnessed, in particular in the ladies section where Areen Salam won the 1st net prize with an excellent score of net 25. This upcoming little girl has a very good golf swing and in a very short time has picked up the basics of the game. Another upcoming girl who won the first gross was Marayama with a score of gross 43. Other contenders who could not win but played very well are Nushmiya Sukhera and Mrs. Samea Javed Ali.
In the seniors section, the fight revolved around Javed Khan, Col. Hammyun Rashid and Wajid Sethi in the gross event and Col. Azhar Khawaja, Col. Tashfeen and Naveed Faraza in the net event. Ultimately Col. Azhar Khawaja won the first net and Javed Khan won the 1st gross. Amongst the veterans, the winners were A.Sattar Khan (1st net) and Dr. Zafar Aziz (1st gross).
The amateurs will tee off today at 11:30 am through a shotgun start. A total of 80 amateurs will fight it out for the top honors. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at 4:30 pm at Lahore Gymkhana Golf Course. Mian Kausar Hameed, Director National Bank of Pakistan will be the chief guest.
