Bangladesh lost to India on Saturday after a bright start however things would b touch easier against Ireland
today. Yet Bangladesh need to bat well as their main players failed to deliver against India. Ireland are a capable
unit which upset Pakistan at last 50 over World Cup. They know the conditions in England and on their day can
trouble anyone.
Bangladesh team will have to be on the lookout. William Porterfield is a crucial player for Ireland at the top of the
order and will be expected to perform in today's match. Boyd Rankin is a nippy pacer and can test the
Bangladeshis. Mohammed Ashraful needs to play with responsibility for Bangladesh as he has the potential but
isn't delivering regularly. Overall Bangladeshis will be favourites to win the game in Nottingham but Ireland are a
spirited unit and can upset the Bangladeshis.
Australians are on the backfoot
Australians haven't fathomed this format of the game which was evident from their shock loss to West Indies on
Saturday. Ricky Ponting's side couldn't check the onslaught of the Chris Gayle and will have to bring something
out of the top drawer for today's game against Sri Lanka.
The Aussie bowlers will have to find out the right line and length to bowl in Twenty20 cricket. For Sri Lanka
Sanath Jayasuriya needs to fire at the top to peg back the Australians. They have other capable batsmen in
Kumara Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan so the Aussies have their work cut out. Australians are vulnerable
but are expected to make a strong comeback. Sri Lankans are a proficient side and can dispose off the
Australians.
Both team need to win desperately which will make it an exciting contest to watch.
