Brazil, Germany find winning formula
Source: AFP August 9, 2008 BEIJING - Favourites Brazil and Germany got their Olympic women's football campaigns back on track with second round wins here Saturday while Norway ensured themselves a place in the quarter-finals.
Hosts China were held to a 1-1 draw by Olympic newcomers Canada and they remain locked together at the top of Group E.
Brazil and world champions Germany, who had fought out an uninspiring scoreless opening match in Group F, recorded their first wins in their second pool matches but in contrasting fashion.
With world player of the year Marta and her strike partner Cristiane in imposing form, Brazil produced an emphatic performance in beating North Korea 2-1 in Shenyang.
