Pakistan were relentless and had firm grip over New Zealand though they were down 0-1 by the sixth minute.
New Zealand skipper Phillip Burrows' reverse stick attempt was like a training show, but Pakistan goalkeeper Salman Akbar failed to stop the floating attempt. That raised Pakistan tempo a great deal, and they nailed in the equaliser.
After a cross from Muhammad Saqlain, Rehan was the first to open up from Pakistan side in the 11th minute that also brought teams on lever terms.
