Sallu explains reasons of resignation
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 9, 2008 LAHORE - Pakistan's chief cricket selector Salahuddin Ahmed Sallu said that the change of the team for Toronto Four-Nation Tournament without his knowledge made him resign as chief selector.
Sallu said the selectors included off-spinner Saeed Ajmal in the 15-member squad submitted to the board but he was replaced by uncapped opener Shoaib Khan.
Former test player Ahmed sent his resignation to the new chairman of the cricket board, Ejaz Butt.
"I have resigned as I am hurt and upset that they made a change in the team given by us without even bothering to inform us about it," Sallu was quoted by a foreign news agency.
