MUMBAI - Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt has called for an urgent meeting with the chairmen, presidents and representatives of the India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Cricket Boards on Thursday, a one day prior to the ICC board meeting in Dubai, it is learnt here.
According to sources close to the PCB, chairman Ijaz Butt personally telephoned to the Asian board members and has asked for a meeting regarding the 2011 World Cup hosting rights.
Following terror attacks in Lahore last month, the ICC Board will consider the implications of the incident for the ICC and its members in both the immediate future and the longer term, including any potential impact on plans for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
It was not known whether India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh would decide to co-host the World Cup in 2011 without involving Pakistan in the worst scenario.
