KESC remain in hunt for Patrons Trophy semis

KARACHI (APP) - The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) remained in hunt for a place in the semi-final of Patrons Cricket Trophy Grade-II Tournament despite their three day match against UBL ended in a tame draw at the UBL Sports Complex Ground on Wednesday.
KESC, who had scored 405 for the loss of eight wickets in their first innings, had gained three valuable points by restricting UBL to 351-7 in the allotted 83 overs.
KESC, who led by 54 runs in the first innings was bowled out for 270 in their second outing in the last session of third and final day's play.
UBL, who needed improbable 325 to win in 27 overs, was 73 without loss after which match was called off early with mutual consent of the two captain with 11 overs remaining.
Left arm seamer Ruman Khan was pick of UBL bowling attack snapping four wickets for 54 runs in 20 overs while medium pacer Muhammad Irshad and off-spinner Shoaib Leghari grabbed three wickets each giving away 69 and 59 runs respectively.
Summarised scores: KESC 405-8 in 83 overs (Asad Shafique 120, Fazal Subhan 77, Javed Mansoor 73 not out) and 270 all out in 76.2 overs (Fazal Subhan 49 not, Akbar-ur-Rehman 46, Asad Shafique 42, Daniyal Ahsan 31, Misbah Khan 30, Ruman Khan 4-54, Adnan Kaleem 3-59, Muhammad Irshad 3-69) UBL 351-7 in 83 overs (Behram Khan 133, Aqeel Anjum 65,Akbar Rehman 4-62) 7-0 in 16 overs (Behram Khan 33 not out, Aqeel Anjum 24 not out).
