Premier League: Rehman becomes leading scorer: KPT overwhelm PTV 3-2, HBL-NBP draw 2-2
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 18, 2008 LAHORE - Little-winger Abdul Rehman became new leading scorer of Pakistan Premier Soccer League 2008 when he slotted home two goals in Karachi Port Trust (KPT)'s authoritative 3-2 win over Pakistan Television (PTV) at CDGK Stadium, Karachi. The other match saw National Bank of Pakistan ( NBP) keeping their unbeaten record against Habib Bank Limited (HBL) at Korangi Baloch Stadium, Karachi with 2-2 scoreline.
League-topper KPT, who won both outings against PTV last season, had a luckless start when Rehman smacked the ball onto cross-piece when referee Shahid Ismail awarded them fifth minute penalty-kick. The Portmen failed to recover quickly from the shock and PTV's skipper Naimat Ullah took full advantage by giving PTV 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute. Naimat had suspicion of off-side but Shahid applied advantage rule as he went up to beat helpless keeper Sajid Hussain. It was PTV's first-ever goal against KPT in PPFL League history.
