Deposed SHC CJ takes oath as SC judge today
By Assad Hameed September 19, 2008 ISLAMABAD - Former Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed is all set to take oath as a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan today, a Law Ministry official told The Nation on Thursday.
A key ally of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, was sacked from the office of top judge of Sindh on November 3 last year after he refused to take oath under Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) promulgated by the then President Pervez Musharraf.
According to Secretary Law, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed has agreed to become a judge of apex court after the government approached him with the request.
