England won the toss and chose to bat first in the deciding fifth Ashes test at The Oval on Thursday in a match England must win to regain the Ashes. England, which won the second test at Lord's before losing the fourth match in Leeds to make the series 1-1, recalled all-rounder Andrew Flintoff for seam bowler Graham Onions in its one change from the humiliating innings and 80-run loss. Australia named the same team that leveled the series at Headingley, as seamer Stuart Clark kept his place ahead of the team's leading spin bowler Nathan Hauritz.
