ICC delegation inspects construction work at Pindi Stadium
By ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL June 20, 2008 ISLAMABAD - A 16-man delegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) inspected Pindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi on Thursday to inspect the preparations for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be held in the three major cities Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi in September this year 2008.
The delegation observed the ongoing construction work at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, the third venue of the prestigious cricket event, which will host five One-day International (ODI) matches including a semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy.
ICC official Samiul Hasan Burni told reporters that the members of the delegation from different departments of ICC were satisfied with the arrangements, which had been made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to organise the mega cricket event so far.
