PHF trying to hire Dutch consultant

LAHORE - The Pakistan Hockey Federation has finalised the terms and conditions with Dutch consultant Wouter Tazelaar but the latter would be consulting his lawyer before signing up the MoU, it was learnt on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference with Tazelaar, PHF secretary Asif Bajwa said that the federation formulated a four-year plan for the revival of the game from the grass roots level and for that the PHF required a consultant to runs the 11 academies it plans to launch.
"Once his lawyer gives the green signal, the two-year contract will be signed and during his tenure with the PHF, he will give 210 days of the year to the game in Pakistan," said Bajwa.
"Tazelaar will also train Pakistan coaches and give off-field tips to both the senior and the junior teams. He would be preparing structure of Pakistan hockey right from the start on the lines of the training set up being used in Europe and Holland. Besides, he would provide a training regimen to women team.
"Once we set up our plan, we would then go full throttle to achieve the path to glory," said Bajwa.
Bajwa said that Tazelaar has been running an academy in Holland with the help of a software being used by hockey federations across Europe, Spain, South Africa and Belgium.
