ISLAMABAD - Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt named former Test player Abdul Qadir as the head of the national selection committee on Thursday. He said other members would be announced soon.
While talking to media after PCB Constitution Committee meeting, he said that PCB would be run constitutionally and he had given tasks to all employees to complete in a time frame. "One who does not deliver, will be sent home. If I could not produce results I will also leave the office of chairman PCB," he said.
Butt further said that he had taken over the PCB a couple of weeks back and Pakistan team produced excellent results at Abu Dhabi against West Indies. "Pakistan won all three One Day International matches comprehensively. We will streamline the affairs of the board, as over 1000 people are working in the board and we will get rid of over staff," he said.
He said that India cricket team would visit Pakistan according to their schedule. "The officials of the BCCI assured me to visit Pakistan on telephone and I hope they will come and provide Pakistani people good entertainment, "he said.
While answering a question regarding Shoaib Akhtar, he said that Shoaib was fit for the match before leaving for Abu Dhabi. "He was hundred per cent fit and bowled 10 consecutive overs during the net practice but unfortunately, he got some injury problem in his foot and was not able to participate in the first two games. He was fit for last one-dayer but tour management committee did not want to make any changes in the winning side of the first two ODIs," he said.
