PSF says suggestions from legends are welcome

Published: July 23, 2008

ISLAMABAD - Senior Vice President Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Asim Suleman, said Tuesday that the federation would welcome suggestions from legends Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan regarding the promotion of game in the country.
While talking to reporters at Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Officers Mess, Air Vice Marshall Asim Suleman said that the PSF would not plunge into any controversy. "Jahangir Khan is my hero, I respect him and he is role model for the budding players. They (Jahangir and Jansher) should come forward and point out the flaws in the policy and help us rectify that. They should also come in the squash courts during the training camps to encourage the upcoming boys for the international competitions, "he observed.
Responding to a question, Asim turned down the reports regarding the resignation of Qamar Zaman, vice president PSF. "We did not receive any resignation from Qamar Zaman. However, the federation seeks help from him on the various issues on and off. Qamar is playing an active role in the federation's affairs. We have set the road map to reach our destination. Our four boys move ahead in the international ranking, "he said.
He said that top national player Aamir Atlas Khan was on 35th spot in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) ranking in 2007. Now, he is at the 23rd rung.
