Pakistan squad for World Jr Squash off to Zurich

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's four-member team left for Switzerland to take part in the World Junior Men's Squash Championship which will be held in Zurich from July 28 to August 7.
Aamir Atlas Khan, Shoaib Hasan, Waqar Mehboob and Farhan Zaman accompanied by coach Fahim Gul and manager Shamus-ul-Haq would reach the destination via Dubai.
The two other players Danish Atlas Khan and Nosherwan Khan also left for Switzerland to compete the individual event of the prestigious international squash showpiece event. Both players would incur their expenses themselves.
Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas is the top seed player of the championship. In the team event, Pakistan is spotted at the second seed followed by Egypt. Aamir is favourite for the title, who will cut the cake on July 30 to celebrate his 18th birthday, as the quarterfinal of the individual fixture will be held the same day.
Talking to The Nation, world number 23, Aamir Atlas Khan said that he was hoping to win the title. "I would like to win the title for Pakistan after a gap of 22 years as my uncle Jansher Khan had put this feather in his cap in 1986. I am ready to brush aside all the obstacles to claim the trophy," he said.
