Aamir is favourite for the title, who will cut the cake on July 30 to celebrate his 18th birthday, as the quarterfinal of the individual fixture will be held the same day.
Talking to The Nation, world number 23, Aamir Atlas Khan said that he was hoping to win the title. "I would like to win the title for Pakistan after a gap of 22 years as my uncle Jansher Khan had put this feather in his cap in 1986. I am ready to brush aside all the obstacles to claim the trophy," he said.
Aamir said that he was physically fit for the top junior international competition.
"We have also bright chances of winning the team event by toppling top seed Egypt. All the boys toiled hard during the training camp and they have abilities to overcome high ranked side of the world," he observed.
Responding to a question, he admitted that all the things were not hundred per cent.
"I am positive. The Pakistan Squash Federation is doing well for the betterment of the players and putting all available resources in squash to regain the lost glory," he said.
Aamir said: "A coach plays important role. A coach could concentrate only on four boys during the camp. Fahim made his hectic efforts to overcome the weak areas of the players during the camp," he further said.
