Pakistan squad for World Jr Squash off to Zurich
By ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL July 24, 2008 Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas is the top seed player of the championship. In the team event, Pakistan is spotted at the second seed followed by Egypt. Aamir is favourite for the title, who will cut the cake on July 30 to celebrate his 18th birthday, as the quarterfinal of the individual fixture will be held the same day.
Talking to The Nation, world number 23, Aamir Atlas Khan said that he was hoping to win the title. "I would like to win the title for Pakistan after a gap of 22 years as my uncle Jansher Khan had put this feather in his cap in 1986. I am ready to brush aside all the obstacles to claim the trophy," he said.
Aamir said that he was physically fit for the top junior international competition.
"We have also bright chances of winning the team event by toppling top seed Egypt. All the boys toiled hard during the training camp and they have abilities to overcome high ranked side of the world," he observed.
