Hamza leads golf trials at Islamabad

LAHORE - The golf trials to select a three- member golf team for the World Amateur team championship for Eisenhower trophy to be held in Australia from October 16 to 19 are in progress at the Islamabad Golf Course.   

After two rounds, young Hamza Amin, son of Pakistan's top golfer Taimur Hassan Amin is leading the field with two rounds of 72 & 74 with an aggregate of 146, two over par. Over the two days, Hamza Amin has demonstrated sound technique in shot making and the encouraging part is that his temperament has been exemplary. He was brilliant off the tee and did not stray from the fairways.Appearing confident and displaying eagerness to make the top grade are Waseem Rana of DHA Karachi, Aadil Jehangir of Lahore Gymkhana and M.Rehman of Royal Palm Golf Club. Waseem Rana had rounds of 76 and 74 with aggregate of 150, while Aadil Jehangir and M.Rehman are at 152.Others in contention are Tariq Mehmood at 153, Naeem Khan at 155, Ali Hai at 156 and Ejaz Hussain at 156. A total of 22 hopefuls are participating the trials which will conclude on Thursday.
