Pakistan Academy players caught in night club

NAIROBI - Two players of the touring Pakistan Cricket Academy who allegedly were caught visiting a local nightclub late after midnight on Thursday would be punished if found guilty of breaching the team's regulations, said the manager of the team former Test batsman Haroon Rashid to Pakistani media here to cover the tour on Friday.

Haroon, who accepted the invitation of the Pakistani media to visit their hotel after offering Jummatul Wida prayers, was shocked when told that opener Ahmed Shahzad and medium pacer Anwer Ali were seen at a nightclub in down town Nairobi, several mile from the hotel the team was lodged after it arrived from Mombassa by air.

The manager said it was shocking to hear that the players were seen at the nightclub late after midnight. He said he failed to understand how could the players reach downtown Nairobi after arriving from Mombbassa where they won the first match of the three one-day series. They won the opener by 73 runs. The team is here to play the remaining two matches of the series on Saturday and Sunday.
