PIA, Pak Steel, Army and NBP in Junior Hockey semis

LAHORE - PIA thrashed Police 8-1 while Pakistan Steel beat NWFP Whites 3-1 to enter the semi-finals of the Junior Under-20 National Hockey Championship being played here at the National Hockey Stadium here Wednesday.

In the afternoon quarter-final, Army leapfrogged over Navy 1-0 and qualified for the last four.

In this well fought contest, Army took the lead in the 7th minute through Qaiser Bashir's indirect penalty corner. Army led 1-0 at half time. Even exchanges were fought in the second period but despite three penalty corners for Army and four for Navy, it went barren. In the last quarter final, NBP beat Railway 3-0. M Attique converted two penalty corners while Abdul Haseem Khan scored the third. NBP led 2-0 at half time.
