Punjab U-14 Athletics gets underway

LAHORE - The Sports Board Punjab Youth Under-14 Inter-district Athletics Championship began here at the Punjab Stadium on Friday.
Ijaz Guk, advisor to chief minister on sports, 'inaugurated the championship in a simple by impressive ceremony.
After the oath of the athletes different events started and four finals were also decided. Lahore's Adnan Nazir won the 100 metres final in 11.99 seconds. Mohammad Babar of Sargodha was second while Kashif Salim of Okara was third.
In 1500 mertes final, Adnan of Lahore was again the winner with 4.28.3 seconds. Mohammad Sajid of Sahiwal was second and Mohammad Mustafa of Sahiwal was third.
In high jump, Mudassar of Sheikhupura was first with 1.53 m jump while Gul Faraz of Muzaffargarh was third and Saheeb Rahir of Bahawalnagar and Ibrar of Lodhran were third.
In javelin throw, Ibrar of Lodhran was first with a throw of 46.85 metres. Rizwan Ahmed of Bahawalpur was second and Lahore's Afzal was third.
