Asim urges Chinese firm  to invest in energy


ISLAMABAD  - Dr Asim Hussain, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum & Natural Resources, Tuesday welcomed the interest shown by Chinese companies working in the oil & gas sector in Pakistan.During a meeting with Li Zaisheng, Vice President of Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation of China, the advisor expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would yield positive and tangible results in oil and gas sector. Asim informed the delegation that Pakistan’s approach towards meeting energy requirements was of urgent nature and completion of mega gas projects including TAPI & IP was its priority. Moreover, he added, the government was also working on establishment of LPG stations across the country and import of LNG for the power sector. Dr Asim Hussain invited M/S Sinopec to invest in other energy projects and assured that the Government of Pakistan would extend full facilitation to the Chinese company. The Sinopec delegation apprised the Advisor regarding successful spudding of OGDCL well, that was contracted to Sinopec.
