LAHORE – Officebearers of Joint Action Committee PIA Employees (JACPIAE) in a meeting have expressed its concerns on alleged involvement of PIA management in recent referendum of employees only to back Peoples Unity. A meeting in this regard was held at PIA headquarter presided over by Captain Sohail Baloach. The meeting was also attended by all the heads of other associations like SEAP, FENA, ATAP, Air League and Alliance of Friends.
Speaking on the occasion Sohail said that PIA management was crossing its limits only to push the Peoples Unity up to wining position.
He blamed that on Tuesday management tried to influence the referendum process of Crew by converting the auto system of duty schedule into manual one.
Reason behind this change was to oblige certain employees by deploying them on more attractive sectors to win their votes in favour of Unity. He said that officebearers of other unions have complained to authorities concerned but they remained unmoved. Mr. Baloach was of the view that such discriminatory attitude of management was airing disappointment among the employees.
He appealed MD PIA, Chairman NIRC and authorities concerned to take notice of the issue.
