LAHORE - PIA and Make a Wish Foundation have arranged air journey for five seriously ill children to fulfil their desire of becoming a pilot and fly an aeroplane, says a press release.
Two children wearing PIA pilot’s uniform went on board PIA flight as pilots from Karachi to Lahore while other three children wanting to travel by an aeroplane accompanied them.
PIA’s Pilot in Command made an onboard announcement that the flight was of special importance as it had four pilots; two regular pilots and two children namely Muhammad Waseem Ali and Ansa Abul Sattar, desirous to become pilots.
The three accompanying children namely Muhammad Dilshad, Sobia Siddiqui and Muhammad Hassan travelled as passengers.
The children on board the flight PK 302 were greeted by the passengers with applause as they walked on the aisle.
The children were accompanied by Mrs Zareen Khan Yousufzai, wife of PIA MD throughout the trip. Later, a reception was arranged for the five children upon arrival at Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore.
A city tour of Lahore including Minar-e-Pakistan was also arranged for the children and an educational show at PIA Planetarium Lahore. PIA catering at Lahore presented them with goodies to carry home with them. PK 305 in the evening brought the children back to Karachi.
Earlier, these children visited PIA head office.
PIA MD Nadeem Khan Yousufzai decorated the pilot wing on the uniform of the two children wishing to be airline pilots.
