Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association Ghiyas Paracha on Thursday, while demanding the government to stop the inspection process of CNG stations and to stop collecting inspection fee from stations, said that till 2010 it was the mandate of the OGRA to inspect CNG stations and HDIP was mandated for renewal of licences but now any department has no right of third party inspection.
He said that to get financial benefits through inspection process of CNG stations and cylinders legal war has been started between OGRA and HDIP and both institutes are claiming to have the authority to check the stations.
Paracha said that in this tussle between HDIP and OGRA, CNG association is suffering because both departments are warning CNG association that they would not accept the certificate of other organisation.
This situation has created panic among association and it is feared that thousand of CNG stations would be disconnected and their licences would be suspended. Chairman APCNGA has also demanded the government to stop inspection process of CNG stations and both departments should be directed to stop collecting inspection fee from stations.
He said that first of all government should clear that who is the responsible authority to check the stations then inspection process should be started.
He demanded the ministry of Law and Cabinet to take action in this regard and solve issue on immediate basis.
Meanwhile, Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting of APCNGA has demanded government to solve this problem within next ten days and demanded Law and cabinet ministries to convene meeting of stakeholders to nominate final authority for collection of annual inspection, checking and cylinder testing fees.
