Slovenia-Pak Business Alliance formed

LAHORE – To promote bilateral trade between Slovenia and Pakistan, key businessmen have formed Slovenia Pakistan Business Alliance (SPBA).

Zafar Hilaly, former ambassador to Italy/Slovenia, will be the chairman of the business alliance, established under Companies Ordinance 1984 as a company limited by guarantee, according to a Press statement.
The objective of SPBA is to promote business, mutual understanding and friendly relations between Pakistan and Slovenia. SPBA is a bilateral representative forum of Pakistani industrialists/businessmen involved in economic exchanges with the Slovenian private sector. Slovenian companies operating in Pakistan are also part of this business alliance.
The Honorary Consulate of Slovenia in Pakistan will encourage the business community to make use of the forum to explore new opportunities in Slovenia. The alliance would assist Pakistani businesses in various areas of interest including market studies & statistics, assistance in setting up companies in Slovenia etc.
Slovenia, which is part of the EU, is situated at the crossroad of the main European cultural and trade routes and borders Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. The major Slovenian industries include ferrous metallurgy & aluminum products, lead & zink smelting, electronics, trucks, electric power equipments, wood products, textile, chemicals and machine tools.
