LAHORE - Over 60,099 vegetable seed packets were sold across the province during 2011-12 Kharif season under the Punjab chief minister's programme for promotion of kitchen gardening.
It was informed to a meeting presided over by Additional Secretary Agriculture (Planning) Sumaira Samad to review progress on the programme here on Monday.
The meeting was told that 60,099 seed kits comprising eight summer vegetables were sold against a target of 60,000 seed packets.
A spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department said that a total of 1,79,000 seed packets were sold during Rabi 2011-12.
