ISLAMABAD - Petroleum Ministry and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) have decided to take severe action against Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) marketing companies who have not decrease prices under which plant would be sealed while quota would be cancelled by a joint inspection team.

However, PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has taken notice of this violation that had caused extra burden on the consumers. The Premier has also issued instructions to form a joint inspection team to end the disobedience allegedly done by influential LPG marketing companies. Officials of both MP&NR and OGRA has been included as a member of the inspection team. This inspection team would take serious actions against those LPG marketing companies that would be involved in price hike/illegal profiteering, sources added.
LPG Distributor Association Chairman Irfan Khokar said that this is first serious action against illegal profiteering by influential LPG companies. The inspection team would seal the plant over violation and this team would also have the powers to cancel the quota of LPG marketing companies.
