Punjab releases  Rs 49.59 billion for  uplift projects

LAHORE - The Punjab government has released funds worth Rs49.59 billion to executing agencies for various development sectors against the net development programme of Rs210 billion during 1st quarter of Financial Year 2012-13.

The spokesman of Punjab Planning & Development Department told that net size of the Annual Development Programme (ADP 2012-13) is Rs210 billion out of which worth Rs49.59 billion has been released for implementation and completion of the development projects in the province by the Punjab government.
The Chief Minister Punjab is already focusing on on-going schemes and also development schemes of the current Financial Year 2012-13 as his first priority. Moreover, under the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, the funds of development schemes in the Punjab province are being released by the Punjab Government, he added.
The Punjab Government released an amount of Rs18.945 billion for Social Sectors, Rs23.807 billion for Infrastructure Development, Rs 2.557 billion for Production Sectors, Rs 1.388 billion for Services Sector, Rs 2.776 billion for development schemes of Local Government and Rs 0.012 billion for other sectors i.e. Environment, Information & Culture, Archaeology, Auqaf, Human Rights etc, he concluded.
