KARACHI - Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken initiative to review APTTA 2010 for facilitation of business community across the border.
Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, Acting President, PAJCCI has urged the traders and business community to share their respected areas of reforms pertaining to APTTA 2010.
He stated that it is high time to get the agreement tuned to the requirements of businesses transacting across the border, most importantly if parallel regimes of trade has to be discouraged between the two countries.
He elaborated that this agreement is a major element specifically with reference to transit trade and such exercise will be conducted by both the Chapters to draft a comprehensive document of recommendations which will then be presented to the competent authorities in both the countries for the improvement at large.
He also referred to meeting of PAJCCI board with the Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Munir Qureshi in July 2012 where it was sought to have a meeting on this concerned items with the Ministry and also shared intent to submit draft propositions to Ministry in this context.
Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai further informed that PAJCCI is also planning to hold stakeholders’ meeting in this regards at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed by Chaman after Eidul Fitr to acquire feedback from those who are directly concerned.
Achakzai stressed that business community may share their views and suggestions on APTTA 2010 in order to improve bilateral relations maximum by September 1, 2012 so that matter may be discussed with the relevant authorities at the earliest.
He requested business community to share their respective views in writing via email or mail it to Secretary General, PAJCCI.
