KARA
CHI - Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Investment Zubair Ahmed Motiwala in a letter to President of Pakistan on behalf of business community of the province has asked not to reverse the clock from 1st November and has said that instead of reversing the clock, all those institutions which includes education institutions, banking sector, government offices may be advanced by one hour i.e those institutions which starts at 08:00 am in the morning would start at 09:00 am, subsequently, they would also close one hour late.
He further said that it would save one-hour electricity and ensure prolonged working hours. Our tradition is to work under the sun and with sunset no matter what the time is working hours end, he added.
Advisor Investment further added that advancement of clocks brought a fruitful effect and the working hours of business really improved besides saving of energy.
He said that feedback from the business community at large is against reversing the clocks in winter because it would make their business hours too narrow. Sunsets according to the new time is around 6:45 to 07:00 pm but if we reverse back the clocks then sunset would be at 5:45 to 6:00 pm and that would shrink the working hours, he observed.
He further said that it is a great idea and he personally believes this would be win-win situation as we would beat the energy crisis and also keep the working hours intact.
He also said that the Sindh Board of Investment has been established for speeding up the investment and to facilitate the existing and potential investors in the province of Sindh. The Sindh Board of Investment has set objectives to develop an investment friendly environment, to boost industrial activity, enhance agricultural output and encourage public private partnership for socio-economic development of Sindh.
