POL prices likely to go up by Rs 3.5/litre

ISLAMABAD -   – AHMAD AHMADANI - To add miseries to masses, already bearing sky-high oil prices for a long time, prices of petroleum products (POL) are likely to increase up to Rs3.50/litre this time with the start of upcoming March, sources said on Friday.The sources told that a petrol bomb is set to explode as prices of petroleum products would witness a heavy hike which would add further miseries to common public bearing heavy brunt of high prices of fuel oil in the country. They said per litre price of petrol would go up by Rs2.80/litre, high speed diesel (HSD) Rs3/litre, light diesel oil (LDO) Rs2.40/litre, kerosene oil Rs2.45 while price of high octane blended component (HOBC) would be increased by Rs3.50/litre with the start of March across the country. Owing to change in the oil price mechanism, announcement of prices of petroleum products are going to be announced after 38 days in the country, sources added.
