CHI - The Chief Minister Sindh said that private investors from Turkey and UAE showed interest in Thar Coal Project.
During meeting with a delegation of M/s Bilal Transport UAE and M/s Demir Mining Turkey at the Chief Ministers House on Friday, the CM said that he had impressed about the views explained by them about Thar and the interest shown by the delegation. Syed Qaim Ali Shah assured the delegation that the Government of Sindh would extend all support and assistance to them. He also encouraged them to invest in the infrastructure project in Thar, as well as in other flood-affected areas of Sindh.
The delegation apprised the Chief Minister that there was a joint venture in both the companies and they have shown great interest in Thar Coal as well as infrastructure development. They informed that they visited Thar along with Thar Engro Coal mining, and they were impressed with the work done by the Sindh Engro and they were also much interested in investing along with the Sindh Engro coal mining.
The delegation further informed the Chief Minister that they were operating similar mine projects in Turkey since 1988, and were producing 6.5 million tons of coal per annum, and they had all the required machinery for mining, which they could transfer to Pakistan for this project.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Secretary Thar Coal Energy Board Aijaz Ali Khan, Ali Raza Altaf Mirza Zafar Hussain, Sher Afghan and Abdullah Hakeem of Bilal Transport UAE and Aykan Daskir, Kaya Kocal, Oguz Atil Karawercan and others.
