Nepra requested to raise electricity rates by Rs1.36 per unit

Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) Thursday sent a request to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to increase electricity rate by Rs1.36 per unit for December bills under fuel adjustment.

According to sources in Nepra, cost of electricity made during December from diesel was Rs21.66 per unit and from furnace oil Rs15.78 per unit. Therefore, the CPPA requested to raise the electricity rate by Rs1.36 per unit.
The increase in the electricity rates would be applicable for all electric distribution companies including KESC.
