FBR freezes PCB accounts for evading tax

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen the accounts of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as PCB has not paid the tax amounting to millions.

Sources said confrontation between FBR and PCB has risen for a second time due to non-payment of Rs 30 million. As a result, FBR has confiscated Rs 18 million already present in the account of PCB and issued it notice to pay the remaining amount.
Opposing the step taken by FBR, spokesperson PCB said that it is against the law according to which the tax evading organisation is given a period of 15 days for paying the tax. But FBR has issued no such notice to PCB, which contradicts the rules and regulations, he noted.
