LAHORE – Arif Memorial Teaching Hospital (AMTH) Medical Superintendent Dr AJA Samdani has said that 400 beded state-of-the-art hospital is providing free treatment to patients under seasoned professors who otherwise charge Rs 1500 to 2000 as consultancy fee at their private clinics.

He said that hospital was being run under the aegis of Talat Rashid Trust who also provides hundreds percent free treatment including medicines to deserving patients. He said that hospital was situated at Ferozpur Road.
Samdani said that purpose of construction of hospital in said area was to facilitate poor people of Kasur and Lahore since hospital was situated almost in the midway of Lahore and Kasur. He said that hospital was equipped with latest medical instruments like nursery with incubators and other equipments, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of medical and surgical with latest monitors and ventilators. Apart from this, he said that facility of round-the-clock working emergency department, six operation theaters with all sorts of equipments, more than 100 experienced and well-known doctors to serve the humanity are available in the hospital.
To a question Samdani said that hospital was being run by TRT and Rashid Latif Medical College. He said that since Professor Dr. Rashid Latif belonged to Kasur, that was why he established hospital in centre of Kasur and Lahore to serve people of both cities simultaneously. He said that hospital was established and inaugurated in November, 2010 which is a purpose built teaching hospital.
He said that there is no health care facility between Kasur and Lahore for the residents of more than one hundred villages. Dr. Samdani said that there was seating capacity of 300 patients in OPD of the hospital and OPD comprised on 20 clinics including medicines, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, ENT, dermatology and others. He said that few private rooms have been marked to entertain private and affording patients. He said that latest labour rooms were established with medical laboratory where all sorts of medical tests are being carried out against nominal charges. He said that if any test could not be carried out within hospital that was being done from Rashid Latif Hospital on nominal charges.
