One hopes that the policy of reconciliation that Raja Ashraf has adopted to resolve contentious issues such as the appointment of the new CEC comes from the bottom of his heart. The spirit must continue to prevail to let the democracy find firm roots in the country. This factor is of utmost importance given how at the moment most of the parties have been calling for free and fair elections and some of them have even warned that a bloody revolution might erupt in case the polls were rigged. With already so much turmoil rocking the country, this frustration could in fact take on the character of such a dreaded scenario. Hence greater caution is needed to avert such circumstances from arising.
