Weird homework excuses

A BRITISH lecturer has revealed that a student once used the excuse “I was arrested for being a spy” to explain their lack of homework.

It is just one of a number of weird excuses that John Curry has heard over the last 14 years, reports Metro.
Curry explained that the student claimed they had been mistaken for a Chinese spy and arrested, but released in enough time to attend the lesson and make their excuses.
Another excuse given to the computing lecturer was: “I was grieving over the death of my World Of Warcraft character.”
Other students looking for extensions have used erupting volcanoes, civil war and near-death as excuses. However, Curry admitted that while some “seem pretty improbable”, many students have been able to offer proof to back up excuses. “I’m actually more sympathetic to someone who just says, ‘I have not done the work’,” said Curry.        –GN
