KATY Perry was recognised for her charity work at the Celebration of Dreams Gala in her hometown Santa Barbara, California the other day. The 28-year-old singer was among the honourees at the gala, which was hosted by the Dream Foundation at the Bacara Resort and Spa, Contactmusic reported. The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ hitmaker received an award for her work raising awareness of the charity, which helps grant wishes for families facing life-threatening illness. Among others was American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe who was also honoured at the event and famous guests included Glee star Jane Lynch and actress Marcia Gay Harden. –ZN
