World premiere of Pak film Lamha in NYC

July 04, 2012

A Pakistani feature film, LAMHA by a relatively new production company, Bodhicitta Works has been officially selected to screen in competition at the prestigious New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF) this August.

Lamha (publicized as SEEDLINGS in English internationally) is a Pakistani feature film starring Aamina Sheikh, Mohib Mirza and Gohar Rasheed that completed production in Karachi earlier in June 2012.
Produced by Meher Jaffri and Summer Nicks of Bodhicitta Works, and directed by debutant Mansoor Mujahid, LAMHA will have its World Premiere at the New York City International Film Festival, which takes place this year from August 9 - 16. NYCIFF is held annually at Times Square, New York and runs in conjunction with the NYFilmMarketTM, the only film market in the US East Coast. The film is intended to release theatrically in Pakistan later this year. LAMHA revolves around three lives that are bound together by a devastating accident, in an intricately woven story of loss, forgiveness and redemption. The characters of Lamha face the terrifying prospect of piecing together the semblance of normal life.  Aamina Sheikh’s breakthrough performance comes hot on the heels of her 2012 Lux Style Award Best Actress nomination, while this marks yet another accolade for Mohib Mirza after his win as the Best Supporting Actor at the International Filmmakers’ Festival 2009, at Kent, UK.                              –PR
