Boy shot dead on Farrell film set

FILMING on Colin Farrell’s new movie was thrown into chaos after a teenager was murdered on the set.

Dubliner Farrell, 35, is in Philadelphia making gritty crime drama Dead Man Down in which he plays a sniper. But US cops discovered the body of 18-year-old Robert Sneed who had just left a grocery store in the city’s Frankford neighbourhood - moments before the film crew arrived there.
The 18-year-old was shot several times and was pronounced dead at nearby Temple University Hospital. The movie’s production assistant Scott Faust was at the scene shortly after the shooting.
He said: “One of the officers was like, ‘Your movie’s called Dead Man Down, isn’t it?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And he was like, ‘Oh, that’s irony for you.’ It makes you take things a little more seriously. What drives people to literally say, ‘I’m gonna make sure you no longer breathe?’ That’s just a lot of weight.” Another production assistant Sean Galczyk also witnessed investigators working on the crime scene. He added: “I’d say it’s definitely really ironic to be a part of this film, and then to see it (in real life). It’s weird.”                    –TS
