Madonna asked to drop guns from tour

MADONNA has chosen to ignore pleas from law enforcement to leave guns out of her live show, it has been reported. The 'Girl Gone Wild' performer is currently on tour promoting her album MDNA, which has sparked several controversies since its launch in May. According to The Scotsman, Lothian and Borders Police advised Madonna to leave a machine gun and hand pistol out of her stage show in light of the recent shooting in Colorado at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
However, she proceeded to keep the weapons in her act during Saturday's (July 21) concert at the Murrayfield Stadium, brandishing pistols on stage as well as an AK47 assault rifle.
Madonna came under criticism from Amnesty International Scotland director Shabnum Mustapha, who said that the musician should have applied "common sense" given recent events.
The singer is yet to respond to address the criticism over her use of guns in her 'MDNA' tour.
Madonna was recently threatened with a lawsuit by the National Front party in France, after images of party leader Marine Le Pen juxtaposed with a swastika were used in her show.                     –DS
