Tom Cruise looks set to become a New Yorker after the beleaguered star was spotted hunting for a bachelor pad on the outskirts of the Big Apple. The shell-shocked A-lister is said to be planning a move away from California and nearer to Katie Holmes’ digs in Manhattan and his six-year-old daughter, Suri.
After news of their split emerged last month, the couple had a speedy divorce settlement which saw Katie win primary custody and Tom being given visitation rights. A source told the New York Post: 'Tom's looking for a new home here. He wants a fresh start. He doesn't want to go back to the East Village apartment where he was living with Katie. 'He's looking for something that's very private where he won't have to deal with going through a lobby, and people outside all the time.' Another pal added: 'He also wants to have a nice amount of space for Suri, with outdoor space. That could mean high-end luxury apartments, but he's also looking at houses outside of the city or in gated communities.'
