Rumors regarding derailing democracy misleading: Altaf

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that rumors of derailing democracy are misleading.

Talking to media after meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik in London on Wednesday‚ the MQM chief said that rumors of separation of his party from government and delaying elections are also misleading.
Earlier, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has communicated a special message of President Asif Ali Zardari to MQM chief Altaf Hussain during a meeting in London Wednesday.
The meeting held after Altaf Hussain’s announcement to participate in Tahirul Qadri’s long march and protests in Islamabad on Jan 14.
The two leaders met at the MQM’s international secretariat and discussed the country’s overall political situation in the context of the long march announced by the chief of the Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ).
The minister had left for London soon after meeting President Zardari in Karachi and had reportedly discussed with him Qadri’s planned long march.
The MQM chief, on the occasion, said that his party would not allow anyone to derail democracy at any cost.
He strongly censured all remours of derailing democracy, added that, MQM not leaving PPP alliance.
