Blast kills 4, injures 10 in Afghanistan food outlet

Four people were killed and another 10 suffered wounds when a suspected bomb went off at a food outlet in the Khwaja Sabzposh district of Afghanistan’s northern Faryab province on Tuesday, officials said.

The explosive had been placed beneath a table and exploded at a time when a number of men were taking afternoon meals at the outlet, Faryab police chief Maj. Gen. Naji Jan Mullahkhel said.
Two of the injured were said to be in a critical condition, he said, adding the outlet owner and an employee were detained for interrogation.
"The bomb was fitted in a pressure cooker that was placed beneath a table at the restaurant," the district chief, Abdullah Masoomi, said. A former local jihadi commander, Nadar, was among those injured, he said.
There was no claim of responsibility for the explosion.
